Fight Strategies For the The Shattered Halls in World of Warcraft

The Shattered Halls is a level 70 instance in the Hellfire Citadel. This instance has three bosses in it. Here are fight strategies for each boss.

Nethekurse

The first Boss is Grand Warlock Nethekurse. In front of him are four orcs that must be killed in any order. Once the last one is killed, Nethekurse will aggro to the party. If the party takes too long to kill the orcs, Nethekurse will kill the last one himself and then aggro to the party.

Nethekurse has three abilities that the party should be aware of so that he can be killed. The first is Summon Void Zones. Using this, he will summon void zones throughout the fight. They will do 1000 shadow damage per second. Players, including the tank, will need to move away from these or they will be killed. This shouldn't be too hard because players will be warned by emotes 1-2 seconds before they are cast.

The next ability is Death Coil. It is just like the warlocks death coil, which fears the target while draining 100% damage to cast as life. The third ability is Dark Spin. Once Nethekurse reaches 20% health he starts spinning, doing 2000 damage to all playes in melee range and throwing shadow bolts at random people in the group doing 1500 shadow damage. During this time, he will not move so the tank and melee can back out if needed to heal up.

Warbringer O'mrogg

The next boss is Warbringer O'mrogg. He is a two-headed ogre with four major abilities. His Thunder Clap is like the warrior thunderclap, but has a increased nature damage up to 938-1062. This will slow your attacks up to 30%. Warbringer O'mrogg next ability is an AoE, or Area of Effect, fear. This can be broken by Will of the Forsaken, Tremor Totems, or Fear Ward. Any trinkets that break fear will also work. The third ability is Burning Weapon. Once his weapon starts to glow with fire, he will hit for 1000 damage each melee hit. His last ability, Blast Wave, works with Burning Weapon. Blast Wave will happen after his weapon beings to glow with fire. He will send out waves of fire that deal 2500-3500 damage and slow your speed. During this time he will switch targets randomly. The tanks need to keep him off the healer.

Warchief Kargath Bladefist

The last boss is Warchief Kargath Bladefist. He has only one ability and it is Blade Dance. Warchief Kargath Bladefist will use Blade Dance every 30 seconds. This is a whirlwind like attack doing weapon damage to all party members within melee range. Have the main tank aggro Warchief Kargath Bladefist in the center of the room so the ranged players can spread out so they do not get hit by the blade dance.

Although he only has the one skill, Warchief Kargath Bladefist still hits fast and does around 600 damage hit. During this fight he will summon orcs to his aid. They need to be tanked or killed. The DPS should focus on killing Kargath quickly. To learn more about strategies for World of Warcraft, try reading the Team Idemise Guide.
